The Sky isn't the limit

New limits are being reached in the world with the news that Ingenuity, the first ever mars helicopter, is due to take flight for the first time on Mars. See the article here and then feel free to research about how it went :-).

This can be an inspiration to question our own limits and our own ability to achieve something that we may have thought was beyond ourselves previously.

Always remember that you can! You can achieve that goal!

21st Century Learning Coordinator

Someone who has reached a goal of theirs recently is Sara in Year 6 who we are delighted to announce as our new 21st Century Learning Coordinator.

We are looking forward to seeing Sara reach great heights in her new position. Congratulations Sara!

Sara wanted to take the opportunity to provide you with a quote.

"Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important."

What Ramadan means to me

We are just over a week into the holy month of Ramadan now so it is a good time to reflect on what Ramadan means to those involved in this special time. Masuma has been kind enough to show what Ramadan means to her with a collage of pictures here below.

Thank you for giving us an insight and sharing your thoughts and feelings Masuma.

Art

Here below is a great video from Art. It shows Primary students at EMS Doha expressing their creative thoughts and feelings through their artistic engagement

The art team has not been able to deliver face to face learning since March 2020. However, online learning has not stopped our students from enjoying their art lessons and from producing beautiful creations celebrated across the school.

A "theme week" is a dream week...continued!

Earlier in the week you were informed that students in year 5 have had a Book Week planned for them by Miss Ciara and the year 5 team! What lucky students we have to have such amazing teachers! Have a look for some great ideas. (picture below links to site)

Here below is a picture of the children's invitation to the themed week and below that is an example of super engagement. The children are simply loving their fancy dress opportunity!

Online lessons

In Miss Aliona's class you can see how hard writers in 5-7 have been trying to create their very own short stories. The theme was to pick an object and to think about what an average day for that object might feel like.

Great online writing skills!

Super work by 2.6 and great teacher feedback from Ms Anette was seen earlier this week too. Quality next steps and valuable feedback was offered to her students. This can make a huge positive difference to a child's understanding when they go back and reflect on their work.

Finally, Ms Amy Smith wanted to highlight this work by Marem in 3.3 as well. As you can see below, she wrote superbly about her spring break showing great sentence openers, writing in paragraphs and including wonderful detail.

Routine work makes the dream work!

As well as creative, interesting work, we know that a major way we can help our students online is to provide clear schedules, routines and expectations. It is inspiring to see how well organised the daily work is presented, and how clear expectations are:

Have a great rest of your week!
