Art has turned the tables.... 👏
Miss Lara has been setting her students a challenge: for them to teach her how to make something artistic! She's called the challenge, "You are the teacher" and students have responded with some fantastic creative ideas! The plan is for some of these students to lead a lesson with their peers - really exciting stuff! (pictures link to Students' work)
Online creativity - not a problem! 😀
It can be a challenge to keep students engaged and motivated during online learning, that's for sure! Well, it's a challenge that EMS Doha teachers are meeting head-on, with some really well-thought-out activities involving challenge and fun!
Miss Ciara and 5-5's "Prodigy Maths Quest"
Miss Ana's "Short Story Sunday" gets 5-6 students writing!
Miss Aliona sends 5-7 on a virtual tour of the Natural History Museum!
Mr Diego's students writing imagination - how might a mobile phone feel?
Seriously - there were so many great examples (far too many to include here), across all the year groups. If you have anything you are really pleased with, maybe ask your team leader if you can share it at the next meeting!
Routine work makes the dream work!
As well as creative, interesting work, we know that a major way we can help our students online is to provide clear schedules, routines and expectations. It is inspiring to see how well organised the daily work is presented, and how clear expectations are:
A "theme week" is a dream week!
Students love a themed week... well I bet that the y5 students will LOVE the Book Week planned for them by Miss Ciara and the year 5 team! What lucky students we have to have such amazing teachers! Have a look for some great ideas (picture links to site)
And finally, last but not least, at the end of the day, when push comes to shove and many, many more cliches.....
