World Teachers Day is Tuesday, Oct. 5th. To celebrate you, our awesome teachers, we will ask the students to dress up as their favorite teacher/admin staff. We will ask Group B to come dressed on Tues. Oct. 5th & Group A to come on Tues. Oct. 12th. Please let your students know.

Cambridge Professional Development Qualification in Educational Leadership

Cohort 8 will begin in October with a rate of over 85% of candidates who receive their qualification from Cambridge University going on to a leadership position or senior leadership position!  Our candidates have called this experience not just thought provoking about educational leadership but transformational personally. Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications (PDQs) provide a strong framework to support the effective continuing professional development of candidates. Cambridge PDQs are designed to be integrated into your schools’ professional development planning, activities, and culture. They help schools to improve through cost-effective, sustainable programmes that benefit teachers and their students. They demonstrate to the school community and stakeholders that the school values and nurtures staff development.  

It is a rigorous certification with guided learning hours, Program Leader as well as self-study expectations. Your final portfolio will be assessed by Cambridge ensuring the integrity of the qualification and certificate is awarded by Cambridge.  

Educational Leadership focuses on the theories of leadership and their application in a leader’s own practice and leadership context. Certificate candidates should be serving or aspiring educational leaders. The qualifications were developed in consultation with Cambridge teachers worldwide and the syllabuses reflect the latest research and best practice in professional development, teaching and learning. The qualifications provide a framework for continuing professional development for teachers with experience, helping them to develop skills and knowledge to enrich their practice. Candidates produce a portfolio evidencing practice, learning and reflection.

The cost for this course including 40 hours of classroom contact time and Cambridge Fee is normally 6000 QAR with our discount 5500 QAR!

We continue to be vigilant with health and safety and are pleased to share 100% of our employees are fully vaccinated. We would like to have all PDs in person however, will make further decisions as needed during the ongoing health crisis. We are as last year capping numbers for in person training and will require masks during training. 1. Classroom Management

Course description:

Developing strategies to ensure we are having a positive impact begins with positive behavioural management support. This PD will focus on classroom management strategies designed to help teachers understand WHY challenging behaviour occurs, address the motivation behind the behaviour and finally to alter our classroom environment to provide positive support and management to encourage the behaviour we do want to see.  


2. Teacher Supervision

Course description:
This will engage you in who you are as a teacher leader, we will study current trends and our thoughts on these as well as reflections on materials shared.


3. Educational Leadership
Date: Thursday, 28th October
Time: 12:00-2:00pm
Course Fee: QAR400 per person

Course description:
We will explore leadership - concepts and theories.  We will discuss our view of successful educational leadership and analyze your practice to identify areas of support. We will look at Emotional intelligence (EQ) as a fundamental component of success both professionally and personally. High EQ is essential for educational leaders where communication, team work, and collaboration are important. Participants will build their capacities as emotionally intelligent, collaborative, and reflective leaders. The course challenges participants (1) to read critically, (2) practice effective EQ strategies, and (3) demonstrate abilities to collaborate, communicate, problem solve, think critically and creatively, and reflect.


Arabic PDs for Arabic Educators

Please find the below Arabic PDs - these will be taught by Dr. Jalal Adi.  Dr.Jalal is part of the senior leadership team as Head of Arabic for all 3 EMS Schools as well as Vision International School. He holds a Doctorate of Philosophy PhD Arabic Linguistics from the University of Jordan.  Dr. Jalal latest publication in 2019 is below:

IGCSE - Arabic as a first language
Wamadat Distributor - Oman & Dar- Al- Qalam- Dubai  October 1, 2019

This book is for teaching Arabic for the British program of Cambridge university IGCSE. Its two parts, the first one is the student book and it is designed regarding the type of the texts in Arabic and aim to improve student skills in both reading comprehension and writing in Arabic.  The second part is the activity book which focus on training the students on what part one should focus on.

1. How to teach reading and writing for non- Arab students

This PD seeks to provide Arabic language teachers of students who do not read or write Arabic with strategies and methods for teaching Reading and Writing skills at the different levels of their students through methods that depend primarily on student-centered learning in order to achieve learning goals in an enjoyable atmosphere.  

2. Teaching the Holy Qur'an and Hadith through learning by playing
Date: Saturday, 9th October
Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

Course description:
This PD is a first of its kind for teachers who teach the Qur’an and Hadith. We will provide teachers with new methods and strategies in teaching the Qur’an and the Hadith in an enjoyable and relevant way so the learning is fun.
