Do the basics brilliantly: clear line-ups, calm transitions, the right voice level, safe hands and feet, and simple classroom routines that everyone follows every time. When these foundations are consistent, behaviour improves, learning time increases, and the day feels calmer for both teachers and students.

Learning @ EMS Morning - Monday, 2nd February

Schedule Updates: The schedule will generally remain unchanged. Classes will follow the normal schedule for that day.

However, only two classes will need to alter their schedule due to double specialist lessons:

3.3: Lesson 1 PE / Lesson 2 Homeroom (instead of Arabic).

4.2: Lesson 1 MAT / Lesson 2 Homeroom (instead of MAT).

Learning Stations: Please ensure your stations align with your planning for the week. The goal is to showcase authentic learning and how students engage with the standards taught.

Parent Engagement: Encourage parents to "have a try" or help at the stations to experience how activities link to teaching and learning.

Kindly note that if parents attempt to discuss their child's specific academic progress or behaviour, you should politely remind them that this event is for observing learning only, not for individual conferencing.

Reminder: Shoes Must Stay On During Break

We have noticed some students removing their shoes during breaktime. This is not allowed. For health and safety reasons, all students must keep their shoes on at all times while on the playground and around school.
Please support us by reminding students of this expectation and addressing it immediately if you see it happening. Thank you for your consistency and support.

Dismissal Protocols

Please ensure you are familiar with the correct dismissal protocols. If you have any questions, please reach out to a member of the Admin team. It is important that we all consistently follow the same procedures.

Dismissal procedures for KG to Year 3

If anyone unfamiliar to you comes to the classroom door to collect a student, they must be directed to Reception so a verification call can be made home. This applies to all adults, including drivers and nannies.

If a student is released to an adult who has not been verified by the parent first, the Ministry will hold the school liable.

Block secretaries will request QIDs for any person authorised to collect a student. A phone call home must also be made to double-check approval.

We understand that hallways and doorways can be extremely busy at dismissal time, vigilance is essential. Even if Reception is busy, the verification calls must be made.
