Teacher's Day Digital Shield: Automate Your After-Hours Boundary
Leverage Google's built-in automation features to create a firm, transparent digital boundary that prevents work from encroaching on personal time, a much-deserved "gift" to yourself on Teacher's Day and every day after.
Schedule Send for Teacher's Day and beyond:
When drafting an email to a colleague or parent in the evening, do not press "Send."
Instead, click the down arrow next to the blue "Send" button and select "Schedule Send."
Choose a time for the email to be delivered during the next business day. This models healthy boundaries and prevents your late-night message from prompting an immediate response from someone else who is also trying to unplug.
Create a Recurring "Focus Time" in Google Calendar:
In Google Calendar, create a recurring event from 4:00 PM to 6:00 (or the time that suits you best) AM and on all weekends.
Name the event: "Unplugged / Family Time."
Set the status to "Busy" and the visibility to "Public."
Pro-Tip: This tells anyone trying to schedule a meeting with you that you are unavailable during those times, reinforcing your boundary without having to say "no" verbally.
One section only per day - results in the past support this decision to allow students to perform better
Be active - give your students support and encouragement
Sections are - reading, spelling, general math, mental arithmetic, attitudes.
We implemented reading folders last year and this year based on the reading scores from previous years.
HOS and SLT use these results from your classes.
Let’s commit to not relying on rewards and consequences to manage behavior. Students and their behaviour have changed; let’s change with them. Beyond Discipline is a practical, restorative workshop that helps teachers create respectful, connected classrooms where students take ownership of their behavior. Through case studies, role play, and group discussion, you’ll leave with strategies you can use the very next day to build stronger relationships and respond to conflict in ways that heal, not harm.
2. Creating Effective Teams: Turning Meetings into Collaboration - October 16, 2025
We’ve all sat through meetings that drained more than they delivered. But what if your team time became the most energizing part of your week? In this interactive session, we’ll unpack what makes teams truly effective and how staff meetings can become spaces of shared leadership and trust. Using real-world tools from Lead with Collaboration, you’ll walk away with practical protocols, honest insights, and the kind of connection that lasts beyond the room.
Let’s strengthen how we show up for one another and for our students.
