Sunday 5th

Happy Teachers day! We hope you had a great day. Thank you for all that you do for your students and wider EMS community.

Message from Mr JC

As we celebrate UNESCO’s World Teachers’ Day on October 5, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. Your dedication, passion, and commitment to our students and community are deeply appreciated. Teaching is not just a profession, it is a calling, and the impact you have on the lives of young people is immeasurable.

At the same time, I want to acknowledge something many teachers, especially those who are new to Qatar, experience around this time of year. After the initial excitement of a new job, a new country, and a new community, October can sometimes bring with it a dip in energy and morale. We often call this “October Fever.”

Feelings of nostalgia, cultural adjustment, and the fading of early excitement are normal. Some may even question their decision to stay. But I want to assure you that what you are feeling is part of a natural cycle. Many of your colleagues who have been here for years went through the same stage. They will tell you: perseverance is key. By January, most find themselves more settled, connected, and energized, ready to embrace the rich experiences this journey brings.

So, if you are feeling this way, please don’t keep it to yourself. Reach out to colleagues, lean on your support networks, and remember that you are not alone. We are stronger together, and this period will pass.

On this World Teachers’ Day, I thank you once again for your hard work, your resilience, and your unwavering commitment to our students. You make a difference every single day, and I am proud to work alongside such dedicated professionals.
Week five is over and 31 weeks left for this academic year.

Dismissal protocols

Please make sure you are aware of the correct dismissal protocols. If you have any questions PLEASE reach out to a member of Admin. It is important we are all doing the same thing.

During dismissal time, KG-Year 3

Anyone not familiar to you comes to the door to collect a student. They must be sent to reception for a call to go home, and parents must verify that this includes students, drivers, and nannies.

If it happens, and we let a student go with a person who has not been verified by the parent first, we will be held liable by the Ministry.

Block secretaries ask parents to supply the QIDs of any person authorised to collect students from the class. Additionally, a phone call home to double-check.

We understand the hallways and doorways are very busy at dismissal, but teachers need to be vigilant during these times.

Even if the reception is busy, the calls must be made
