Sunday 11th

Welcome back to another week. We hope you had a fabulous weekend. A few things are on the agenda for this week so please make sure you are checking the Primary calendar and assessment calendar to keep up to date. Good luck to all classes sitting the Pedaia Benchmark assessment starting today.

Back to Basics- Read to your class

Students are asking us when we are coming back to read to them, it's great to see how much they enjoyed being read to during Book Week.

We know reading to children has so many benefits for development, as the weather is heating up allow for time to read to your class, this can help with behavior and also allows for students to have a brain break. As we potentially move back to both break indoors it may be crucial to re look at the class timetable and plan for brain breaks like being read to.

Mental health day message from Ms Asiya

We’re excited to share that we will be celebrating Mental Health Awareness Day on Thursday, 15th May with a special focus on kindness, inclusion, and emotional well-being.

As part of the celebration, we will have a "Wear It Green Day", and we encourage all staff and students to come dressed in green to show support for mental health awareness.

Each class will take part in an indoor activity on the day, considering the hot weather. To begin the day meaningfully, we ask that during the first half hour of the first lesson in the morning, each class completes a kindness poster activity. Here’s how it will work:

  • Every learner will write a kindness note—this could be a kind message to someone in the class, a reflection on what kindness means, or an appreciation note.

  • The notes will then be compiled into a poster and displayed outside your classroom on the boards.

  • Please feel free to get creative with how your class designs their poster!

This will be a wonderful way to set a positive tone for the day and visually showcase the spirit of kindness across our school.

I will be sending out an email informing the parents about the event . Please feel free to use the poster and the link to the official website attached below if needed. I'll have a few posters displayed around our buildings as well.

Thank you all for your continued support and commitment to our learners’ well-being. Please let me know if you have any questions or need any resources for the activity.

Early leave/late arrivals

Please make sure you have informed Salma or Nicole if you will be late or need to leave early. In the case that you are late or need to leave, the absent form needs to be completed as 'early leave' 'late arrival' for HR purposes.
