Happy Thursday! Thank you for another busy yet great week at school. We are inching closer to the well deserved October break. School photos, trips and Digital Citizen week start next week so another busy period. Please make sure you are aware of deadlines and as always, reach out if you need support.
Back-to-Basics BOOST Morning socialisation
Morning Socialization ideas, feel free to add ideas to the link below.
This works - “gel” with your class, ask questions about them, their family, their interests
Greet them at the door
Get out from behind the desk
Get some active bonding and socialisation activities going! If you have any great ideas for these (and we know you do as we see them every day) maybe you could take a minute to share one with your colleagues.

TEChy Thursdays

NotebookLM, introduced by Google recently, is a powerful virtual research assistant that is able to summarize research papers, produce FAQ documents, study notes, and provides a chat bot experience so you can interact with all the research documents, website links, YouTube videos that you have linked in your notebook.
Even better, it produces a podcast in minutes highlighting the key features in the uploaded documents.
This tool will help us:
* Streamline research processes and access information more efficiently.
* Generate creative and engaging content for our podcasts
* Assist our students with producing summaries and study notes for their upcoming assessments.
If you have not checked yet, IT IS ABOUT TIME and I am more than happy to assist you with learning how to use it in your classrooms.
Our school photos are coming up starting October 13th. Please make sure your students know to dress in school uniform even if it is a Wednesday. If you have students in your class who do not have photo consent please remember they are unable to be in class or individual photos.
One section only per day - results in the past support this decision to allow students to perform better
Be active - give your students support and encouragement
Sections are - reading, spelling, general math, mental arithmetic, attitudes.
We implemented reading folders last year and this year based on the reading scores from previous years.
Head of schools from across the network, SLT and teams use these results from your classes to support planning and future next steps within the school.
Break duties
After school break duties are a peak time for incidents to occur. Thank you to those teachers who have been active during these times. Please make sure if you are are on after school duties around E, D and F block you are actively moving students to the gates they need to be at.
