Feedback

The art of well delivered feedback is special. We all like to know what we are doing great at and we also like to know how we can improve. This is exactly the same for our students and giving feedback to the work they have completed is a perfect way to do it.

How we offer this feedback is something to think about. We have all been a part of feedback methods where the effort vs impact can be seen as being too small. With this in mind we pass over to you with your expertise and your knowledge of your students to think about the best way possible to move forward with feedback for your class.

As we are currently online there may be technological methods that you haven't thought of using yet. Although, all methods are considered as good practise as long as they detail some reflection on the work completed and identify next steps moving forward.

Keep in mind the epic PD on Thursday where various digital resources were highlighted that could be used whilst teaching online. There are also a variety of these programmes that could be used as a part of feedback too. Click here to see the interaction our community had with these various programmes.

Continuous Reporting

This week we welcome back the use of continuous reporting with our students. As we are teaching online at the moment, it is important to point out that if students do not hand in any work and are not showing up to live calls then they should be marked down as 'NE' - not evaluated. If you have any questions regarding this, or anything else related to continuous reporting, then please be sure to message Lewis and he will be happy to help.

30 Years of EMS!

Rather wonderfully EMS celebrated its 30th year last year. This achievement is definitely worth celebrating and is certainly one that is worth stating. For that reason, you are asked to place this celebrating 30 years symbol in your email signature.

How can you do that? Thanks to Sara for providing instructions below.

Click here to find the high-resolution logo.
Click here for a step-by-step instruction guide on how the email signature can be created or updated.

Let's get creative and have some fun!

Registration.... what a boring part of the day.... right?

It doesn't have to be!

Check out Miss Catherine and 2-6 this morning:

So funny! If you have any similar, completely different, or any other fun things to brighten up days, send them through and hopefully, we can make this a regular feature!

Textbook requests

Parents in some classes have started requesting textbooks. Please find a standard response, written by Miss Angela, should you receive a request of this type. Change, adapt, or quote, and if the request persists, refer to admin.

Great intro to Assessment for Learning above from Cambridge International

 It's good to talk!

PLT would like to offer a short session each day for all staff to use as a friendly check-in.  The session will be from 12.45pm until 1.15pm from Sunday to Wednesday over the next few weeks.

If you have any questions or topics that you would like to air or discuss with PLT this is the time when you can do it.

Also, if you just fancy a check-in, or some adult online conversation, you are also welcome to come along and join us.

The sessions are optional, so you don't need to accept the invitation, just use it when you intend to come along for a chat.

Feel free to come along and join the conversation.
