Tuesday 9th

Good luck for this afternoons Meet the parent evening. As always, with anything new there could be some bumps along the way and we are ready to support anything that comes up. This is the chance for parents to share highlights or worries with you in order to support your understanding of the students in your class. We are all available tonight if you need any help. Please Whatsapp, Google Meet and we will come. Don't be afraid to move parents on if they go over the 5 minutes.

Back to basics

We have seen a lot of teachers and classes taking the time to learn the school rules outside of the classroom. It's important for students to move through the building safety and it takes time to learn. Thank you for your patience and continued practice.

Meet the parent evening- Tuesday 9th

This is a new event this year where parents will be able to book time with their child's teacher to let you know anything they think could be beneficial for you to know as the teacher. Don't be afraid to move parents on if they are going over the 5 minutes. Your time is important. You may leave after your final appointment.

ASA starting next week

Please see MR Rami's email in regards to ASAs. The sign up sheet is attached
  • ASA will be provided for students from year 2 to year 6, on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 2:00 PM to 2:55 PM.
  • Each term will be based on 8 weeks, teachers are required to do 2 out of 3 terms.
  • Teachers are not required to lead activities for only the same year group which they teach (ex: Year 2 teachers can take as ASA for year 5 students).
  • Some activities will run on all 3 terms and some will be termly.
  • Depending on the activity, we might need to have 2 teachers assigned for 1.
  • I have placed a couple of "sporty activities" for term 2 that can be done outdoors, if you have any ideas please drop me an email or message.
  • If you are leading an activity for year 2, it is recommended to have it in a classroom on the same floor of their actual classroom.
  • If you are leading an activity for years 3 and 4, it is recommended to have in a classroom of year 3s and year 4 students will walk over, basically older groups to join.
  • If you wish to lead an activity that is not in the drop down list, please send me an email or a google chat and we can make it happen.
  • Money and resources are not a problem, whatever the students need to get the best experience we are happy to provide.
  • Logistics in regards to dismissal will follow next week.
  • In addition to the after school activities, The English Modern School is part of an organization called QPPSSA (Qatar Private Primary School Sports Association), that has many sports events throughout the year, if you wish to lead a sports team (one practice a week), please let me know, here's the calendar of this year.
  • Term 1 ASA will start next week Monday, 15th of September.
