Thank you for another great week. We hope you enjoy your weekend, rest, relax and enjoy your time however you spend it.

Message from Rami

The English Modern School is part of an organization called QPPSSA (Qatar Private Primary School Sports Association). QPPSSA is dedicated to designing, implementing and promoting quality sports events and activities through a primary inter-school program to its member schools and student participants.

Our school has been hosting the Indoor Athletics since 2010 and it happened to be the first primary tournament for the year. Below are the tournament days:

  • Year 6 on Sunday 28th of September,2025 - Main Gym
  • Year 5 on Monday 29th of September,2025 - Main Gym
  • Year 4 on Tuesday 30th of September,2025 - Main Gym
  • Year 3 on Wednesday 1st of October, 2025 - Main Gym
11 schools will be participating in the above events, EMS Doha, International School of London, American School of Doha, Compass Al Gharrafa, Doha College, Pearling Season International School, Swiss International School, Qatar Academy Doha, Doha British School, Swiss International School, Qatar Finland International School and SEK International School.

If anyone is willing to help out (primary or secondary staff) with the running of the event (which is mainly scoring, very simple and easy) and enjoy watching some really good athletes perform, start time is 2:30 pm and finish time at 5:00 pm, please reply to my email by choosing which day/s you will be able to help and you will be briefed later on.

Indoor Athletics consists of 10 stations, on which each school team will do as many repetitions as they can in 10 minutes. For more information about the Indoor Athletics you can find on the following link .

Real-Time Intervention with Kami's AI Tools

Read below - or watch how here

Move beyond static assessments by using Kami's AI and real-time features to create, monitor, and support students all within a single workflow. This strategy allows you to identify and address misconceptions the moment they happen, providing targeted support to every student simultaneously.

How to Do It:

  1. Create the Assessment: Open your document (e.g., a PDF worksheet) in Kami. Select the Questions tool from the toolbar and use the AI to automatically generate a variety of questions (multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, etc.) based on the document's content. Ensure "auto-grading" is enabled for these questions.

  2. Assign in Google Classroom: Push the assignment out to your students through Google Classroom, ensuring it creates an individual copy for each student.

  3. Monitor in Real-Time: As students begin working, open the assignment in Kami and switch to the Grading View. From here, you can see a dashboard of all student work. Use the "Answers View" to see a live summary of how the class is performing on each question.

  4. Identify the Sticking Point: In the Answers View, you notice that a majority of the class is getting Question #2 wrong. This is your cue to intervene.

  5. Inject Real-Time Support: While still in the grading dashboard, add a supportive comment directly onto your master copy of the assignment. This could be a Text Comment with a hint, a Voice Comment explaining a tricky concept, or even a Video Comment linking to a short Khan Academy tutorial.

  6. Push the Update: Crucially, after adding the support, click the option to "Update all student copies." This will instantly and seamlessly add your comment to every single student's document without them having to refresh or lose their progress.

  7. Grade and Return: Once the assessment is complete, you can use the Return All button. Because you used the auto-grading Questions tool, the scores will automatically sync back to your Google Classroom gradebook.

Fire drill procedure

Please make sure you are aware of the fire drill procedure. Where you need to go, what you need to take and who to ask if you need help. New year often means we will have a practice. Please see the Fire Drill procedure document.

Checking resources

Please make sure you are following the Ministry guidelines when sending or positing resources home. If you are unsure about anything please ask Ms Rola who will be able to guide you. Check books for content

The linked doc is not finite, it contains some of the most common things we need to avoid when sharing reading books or text generally.
