Virtual Fun Night - last chance to sign up

The Social Committee will be running one last event before the end of the academic year. This event will be the first of its kind at EMS and you are cordially invited to join us for the online fun on the evening of the 9th of June. Frank and Ivy will be hosting proceedings and they have something special for you.

What is the event?
Our night of fun will consist of 2 activities. Both of them will require you to engage either your visual sense or your auditory sense.

Activity one is entitled, Read my Lips
To play, the host will mute the mic, and then speak a word or phrase. The players must try to guess the word or phrase correctly. Players have one minute to figure out the message.

Activity two is entitled, Mystery Singer
For this game, an EMS member of staff who fancies themselves as Doha's Next Top Superstar will be recorded singing but their voice will be slightly distorted and their face covered. Your teams have to guess the singer. Simple as that.

If you would like to attend then please add your name to this document and you will be contacted in due course.

The Maker Movement

We are happy to announce we have a Makerspace for Primary to be opened next academic year in D block. What is a Makerspace? The maker movement is about teaching and learning that is focused on student-centered inquiry. This is not the project done at the end of a unit of learning, but the actual vehicle and purpose of the learning. Start thinking of some ideas for using the Makerspace for your class.

Positive feedback

It's always great to receive positive feedback and when it is received we should embrace it by praising each other for a job well done.

See below an email from a parent which is highlighting their appreciation of Ms Fatima in Year 3. Superb work with Fatima! šŸ‘

***Teaching and learning shout-outs***

Please click here to see Marissa's wonderful video for KG2 Eagles based on 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' which highlighted the life cycle of a butterfly.

There was also a great video attached to the story reading which excellently encapsulated the terminology of this process. Great job to all involved.

Book Cover Delight

With reference to book week previously, in class 4.4 they drew their own version of a cover page for their favourite book. Please see their interpretation below.
