Virtual Fun Night
The Social Committee will be running one last event before the end of the academic year. This event will be the first of its kind at EMS and you are cordially invited to join us for the online fun on the evening of the 9th of June. Frank and Ivy will be hosting proceedings and they have something special for you.
What is the event?
Our night of fun will consist of 2 activities. Both of them will require you to engage either your visual sense or your auditory sense.
Activity one is entitled, Read my Lips
To play, the host will mute the mic, and then speak a word or phrase. The players must try to guess the word or phrase correctly. Players have one minute to figure out the message. Activity two is entitled, Mystery Singer
For this game, an EMS member of staff who fancies themselves as Doha's Next Top Superstar will be recorded singing but their voice will be slightly distorted and their face covered. Your teams have to guess the singer. Simple as that.

KG2 - Dress up day!
Today was a special day for those in KG2, it was a day for dressing up as one of your favourite characters from a book. See the special costumes that were on display here and below.
Students in 1.1, who are being treated at the moment with the joint services of Ms Ana and Ms Daniela, were having a great time today trying to build the tallest tree in Qatar.
Students in Ms Catherine's class were focused on their non fiction writing and carried out predictions for their experiments! The kids were so amazed with how the colour, "races up the paper to make a Rainbow, just like our Rainbow class".
Cookies and the moon!
In 2.6 Ms Anette's class were using cookies this week to learn about moon phases! What a treat!
Online skills - Jeanie and Brad
A big thanks this week to Jeanie and Brad who were kind enough to share some of their fantastic online practise with us. They were both recognised for their skills using their respective apps whilst teaching and now they have created a how to guide to support others looking to replicate this practise in their class.
Here is where you can access Brad's Jam Board video.
Here is where you can access Jeanie's online whiteboard tutorial.
On a similar note, Natalyia was shown some appreciation this week for her Guided Math skills and this made Natalyia want to share her practise with you all.
Please see Nataylia's first video here
Thank you all for sharing your classroom practise.

The Big EMS Animal Food Drive
With the summer holidays fast approaching there has been a drive put together to support animals in Qatar over the hot summer months. A number of the shelters around the country are overrun and very much in need of food to continue to feed the animals in their care.
If you can donate food or even water bowls for animals over the summer then please do bring them to the Year 3 hub where Amy Kate will be collecting them on behalf of 2nd Chance Rescue. Any amount of food is welcome no matter how big or small. Amy Kate will be collecting between now and the week beginning the 13th June when she will be delivering the food gathered to the shelter.
Thank you very much.
