The EMS Award Ceremony

It was an afternoon to remember with The EMS Award Ceremony taking place yesterday. What a delight it was to see our community come together to celebrate the handing out of our peer voted awards. The winners gladly accepted their awards and here are our proud colleagues below.

The Humanitarian Award - This award serves to acknowledge those colleagues who have made a lasting impact by uplifting the less fortunate and volunteered parts of their own lives in the dedicated service of others.

Gunnar Stride

The Professional Development Award - A student for life with drive, ambition and energy (where they find it we don’t know). Regularly completing additional professional development modules on Blue Sky, writing Google exams (Level 1, 2,…), attending external training and courses and embedding this practise into their teaching.

Primary - Fatima Al Hasan

Secondary - Eman Zahran

Non teaching staff - Renee Koval

The Dedication Award - His/her efforts have most likely inspired others to follow their lead which has therefore encouraged a positive ethos across the school. Also, it may well have been noted among individuals and close colleagues that their dedication has, in part, brought success to their department. The participant often sets themselves high reaching targets to achieve and regularly impresses by reaching these aims.

Primary - Sameh Elrefaei

Secondary - Mohammed ElSaid

Non teaching staff - Vidushaka Buyanwilage

The Innovation Award - We’ve all had to be flexible and get creative during a pandemic. To receive this award, it means the participant has come up with an innovative approach to blended learning/school life. His/her efforts have most likely inspired others to follow their lead which has created a meaningful impact across their year group, department or even school.

Primary - Bradley Ellis-Cole

Secondary - Andra Stefanescu

Non teaching staff - Anan Abual-Falayeh

The Head of School Award - Interested members of the community were encouraged to nominate them self or colleagues who they feel were worthy to be considered for the award. They were also asked to prepare a submission outlining their contribution to our community.

Due to incredible service to The English Modern School it was decided that Alia Slimane was given the award.

Thank you to you all for taking part in this wonderful process.

Breakfast with the Principal...

Miss Angela finished hosting the termly, "Breakfast with the Principal" yesterday. The students were seen enjoying their special treat across the days of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. It was a delight to celebrate students who have worked hard and achieved well during this term. Well done to them, and thank you to teachers for creating special tables for your students to eat breakfast at!

Here are some of the pictures from yesterdays event.

Celebration!

Here is the upper and lower Arabic primary team celebrating the achievements of Ms Fatima and Ms Amani. They have both completed their Master degrees. It was also an opportunity to celebrate all of the hard work that the team has made to achieve big success during this uncertain time.

Also, Ms Razane wanted to express some excellenet learning with her year 6 students this week. After a whole year fully online with her non speakers they finally managed to make a lesson here in the deep forest! Something they very much enjoyed.

AIM transition day

There was a successful day of transition for the AIM department yesterday. They welcomed their newest members of the team: Ms Jenny, Ms Jeanie & Ms Veronica. There was also time to thank Ms Caisha for all her hard work as a part of the team too. She will be sorely missed.

Pete The Cat!

In year 1.2 the children recently listened to the book, 'Pete The Cat I love my white shoes'. After, the students completed a book review and finally built their very own Pete the cat! Exciting stuff!
