May 9th

Our student leader Logein found our quote for the day...

As educators, we know all too well that the unexpected is a regular occurrence in the classroom. We must adapt and get used to the unexpected, just as we encourage our students to do the same in life.

Living is an art that requires us to be flexible and resilient in the face of unexpected challenges. Teaching our students to embrace the unexpected is a valuable life lesson that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

When we learn to get used to what we didn't expect, we open ourselves up to new opportunities and experiences. As teachers, we have the privilege of guiding our students towards this mindset and helping them develop the skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

    Student Leadership Shadows

Our students and leaders have been shadowing leaders in the school this week and have been exposed to a wealth of learning opportunities.

By attending meetings, walking around classes, and visiting different year groups, they have gained valuable insights into the inner workings of the school and the education system as a whole.

These experiences will not only benefit them in their academic pursuits but also in their personal and professional development, as they learn from the leaders they are shadowing and gain valuable skills and knowledge that will serve them well in the future.

    Resources

Logein suggested finding more fun ways to use Chromebooks than just for research.

Chromebooks open up a world of possibilities for learning. Explore ideas and apps to inspire budding digital citizens, scientists, and world explorers.

Here is a resource called Chrome App Hub- a great tool to help you discover new innovative uses for the Chromebook in the classroom.

        You can filter by:
        • Ideas        (math, literacy, science, assessment, coding, collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving,  and many more......)
        • Subject     (science, world languages, computer science and more)
        • Age range      ( 5-7; 8-10; 11-13-14+)
        • Learning Goal          ( analyzing data, asking questions and defining answers and more...)

Looking for a fun activity to shake things up and keep our students engaged at the end of the year...try the Digital Breakout Room (click the video for more)
