PULSE pic requests
Lewis will be taking over PULSE duties this week, so if you have any pics of students you would like featured, drop them to him via your preferred method - WhatsApp, email or add them to this folder with a brief explanation, class etc. Many thanks!
Behaviour Matters
We have experienced some challenging behaviour at all year levels over the period since the return to full-time school. This was to be expected, but of course, knowing that doesn't make it any easier to deal with!
Let's work together to get our students back to where they were pre-Covid.
We all follow school procedures and protocols and reach out for support to colleagues and admin. If you have anything extra, some personal tips that are really working for you, we'd love to hear about it! If you get a second, add them to the doc here (Location is Doha Primary shared drive, Behaviour/Concern letters, 2021-2022).
Let's see how many tips we can accumulate before Ramadan!
A message from Mr. Alan
Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that we have received confirmation in relation to the wearing of masks by children.
- Masks will be compulsory for all adults within the school.
- Primary School students will not be required to wear masks, although they may wear a mask if they wish.
- Secondary School students will be required to wear masks.
Thank you for your support in implementing these measures.
Look after your things!
Please show this picture to your students - it is from Block D, but there are similar situations in E and F as well. The problem can be easily solved by writing student names and classes on the item. Let's see if we can make a difference and encourage some responsibility - it's not just a parent's job!
A new feature from Google...
Google announced a cool new feature for Google Classroom called "practice sets."
This update is NOT available yet, although it is available for trial. It has three helpful elements:
Teachers can turn an image or PDF into an interactive question.
Students will receive hints and prompts if they have trouble with a question.
An enhanced auto-grader will check student work and provide insights to teachers.
How to embed formative assessment techniques and practices with Formative webinars.
Formative is now offering free personalised webinars for teachers. If you would like to register, click on this link: https://calendly.com/ atif-formative/webinar- registration and book a session as you wish.
