7th Ocotber

We have so many things to thank our AWESOME teachers for at EMS:

  • Our teachers support, love, and kindness for our students
  • Your amazing relationship-building skills
  • Your persistence through all of the challenges that come your way
  • Our teachers always encouraging students to be brave, ask questions, and explore possibilities
These are just a few of the reasons we are grateful to our teachers!!!!

A job well done! Thank you to all of our teachers, learning assistants, administrators, IT support, Liz, and the NEASC visiting team for supporting EMS through the reaccreditation visit. We look forward to EMS growing and learning from the process.

Next week will be a 'quality teaching' week: without non-teaching

interruptions on your time!!!

  • No meetings or PD’s

  • No blogs, pulse, or emails from administrators unless its an emergency

  • Face to face conversations instead of WhatsApp's

  • Response expected only for emergency emails

  • You can forward any parent emails to secretaries or administrators to deal with

  • Leave time daily is straight after students are dismissed or your end-of-day duty is completed.

  • Please note that the parent WhatsApp system will be the only communication tool that will remain in use next week.

We hope that this 'blackout' week of communication will help you spend a week loving your role as a teacher, without all the outside pressures that we have when completing administrative tasks.

The blackout begins today at 2.30pm, so the Sunday morning slide will be sent to you later today with links for next week, and the week after the mid-term break which includes 'Digital Citizenship week'.

Have a wonderful weekend and a fabulous quality teaching week next week.

Digital Citizenship Week is coming up and Sara has made an easy-to-use guide. Use this Digital Citizenship Slideshow to find resources (Videos, games, lesson plans, extension activities, handouts) ready to use and organized according to your year level. You will see as well a teacher section with some literature and extra resources. Feel free to explore, and choose which activities best suit your class.
Please remember to send your Pop Awards each week.
