LP 2: Dimensions of Learning - Learning encompasses creative, moral, social, experiential and entrepreneurial dimensions.
LP 2: Learning Top-tip #1
Classroom environment and culture
Have a look at your classroom and think how best you could maximise the learning in that space. Think about how you might be able to get the most out of your learning centers and how you can further encourage inclusion to flow within them. Doing this successfully should allow children of different abilities to learn together and should foster a culture of acceptance and encouragement in your class.
Question the access you have as the teacher to physically enter these groups in person and online. Be sure to reflect on how best you can serve your class, in an environmental sense, after your session.
Here is a link based on 10 highly effective learning environment characteristics for your reading, if you fancy.
NEASC PD meeting on Thursday
Incoming, first positive iSAMS reward of the year!
At EMS, we are a part of a reflective community and therefore it is vital that we reward those around us for excellence. Excellence could be in the shape of a brilliant piece of academic work or it could be in the form of a great act of generosity or kindness.
Here is an example below of great community work that Mr Lewis felt the need to reward. Please be sure to start handing out positive iSAMS yourself when you next see something deserving.
Well Being committee
Last year, a well-being committee was creating with the aim to support those around us and I'm delighted to say that the committee successfully produced a staff wall full of positive comments and an end of year award ceremony which was well received.
The primary members of this committee left our school at the end of last year so we are looking for new members to join. If you decide to work as a part of this committee then you will be working with secondary members of the school and you will have the chance to sketch up new ideas that could bring a smile to the face of your community.
If this interests you then please contact Mr Jonny.
New supervision room
Earlier in the week a new supervision room was set up in what was known as the secondary cafeteria. This area is now providing a place for staff children to go between the hours of 12:30 and 14:30.
Thank you to our KG learning assistants for providing a new creative learning dimension. I am sure in time you will make the space your own and ensure you provide some excellent additional learning opportunities after the school day has finished.
COVID testing - ALL Staff
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has mandated that all schools undertake exhaustive COVID testing of all staff. I am pleased to advise that we have been given a date for all staff COVID testing. The Hamad Hospital testing crew will be on campus on Friday, 3rd September 2021.
